Leading your family spiritually is hard. Each family is unique. This means there is not a one way answer that fits all.

Everyone should agree that leading a family takes work. It can be gruesome. Nevertheless, leading your family is very important.

Bible App

AdobeStock_76053958As mentioned in the video above, one way you can lead your family spiritually is through this Bible app. This is merely a tool for you.

YouVersion Bible combines social media in its app. I am sure many parents do not see the draw to this, but please trust me, your children will. The ability to see what your “friends” are reading is a neat tool. I have only a few “friends” on my friend-list and I thoroughly enjoy seeing what they are reading and commenting in their digital Bible.

This app also combines devotional and reading plans.Screenshot_2016-05-30-09-11-44 This means that the app will remember where you left off. You can have it remind you daily to read your scheduled reading. Again, other people on your friend-list can comment and like your reading (think of this as digital encouragement from your “friends”). Besides, who doesn’t like receiving a brief encouragement from the app after you complete your reading?

How to Use This

Screenshot_2016-05-30-09-11-50As mentioned above, each family’s use of the app will be unique to their own family. What may work for one family may not work for another. However, what a great tool to encourage your family to read their Bibles!

You can all agree to read a certain Bible plan or devotional and discuss it once a week, a month, whatever works best for your family. Or, each person may read a different part of Scripture. Then you, as a parent, can comment and discuss with your child(ren) what each person is reading, including you.–Perhaps around the dinner table? This is a great tool. What a neat way to reach your family spiritually.

You can download the app from Amazon, IOS App Store, Google Play, or access it from the web.
