lotcityYou are in ministry. Whoever you are reading this, you are in ministry! Being a pastor, youth leader, Awana director, while they are a position, these do not make you more spiritual or less mature in your faith.

Everyone is in ministry! Right now, my main ministry is to my wife. Next would be the teens at Village Bible Church. If the Lord blesses me with Children, they will be one of my main ministries.

The Church as a whole is all about discipleship (Matthew 28:19). Well, all about Jesus by making disciples. If this is the Church goal, everyone who is a Christian is in ministry.

Wait, isn’t Matthew 28:19 all about evangelism?

No, it is not. It definitely includes missions, but it does not end there. Making disciples never ends. It is a process. The goal is discipleship!

Ephesians 4:12 tells us that the goal of prophets, pastors, and teachers is to train saints to do the work of the ministry. What does this mean? This means that everyone is in ministry. The leaders are here to train and help others do ministry? What is ministry?
Well, making disciples, of course. So, leaders should train the saints to make make disciples. So, leaders disciple saints who then will disciple others, who then will disciple others, and so on.

The model here is that of a ripple. You throw a rock into the water and you see ripples after ripples multiplying. This is how ministry should look. Men and women discipling other men and women and then they disciple others. Therefore, a human ripple effect.

You (Christian) are in Ministry!
